Professor at Erciyes University Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Agricultural Biotechnology since 2013. She earned her B.Sc. in Biology from Hacettepe University (1988–1992), M.Sc. in Biology from Akdeniz University (1992–1995), and Ph.D. in Animal Science from Çukurova University (1998–2003; dissertation on antimicrobial and pharmacological properties of propolis).
Her research focuses on bee products, apitherapy, propolis, pollen/perga, food biotechnology, pharmacology/toxicology and nutrition. She teaches graduate courses including bee product technology and apitherapy, and standardization and processing techniques for bee products.
She completed practical apitherapy training with the German Beekeeping Association (2002) and numerous programs in laboratory animal science and research methods. She has supervised many M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses on bee venom, bee bread, apilarnil, royal jelly and propolis.
