Professor of Surgical Nursing at Ege University with more than 37 years of academic, clinical, research, and leadership experience in perioperative and surgical nursing. She holds MSc and PhD degrees in Surgical Nursing from Ege University and has been a Professor since 2013. Her expertise includes perioperative nursing, patient safety, nursing education, simulation-based education, evidence-based practice, operating room management, curriculum development, nursing leadership, and artificial intelligence in nursing education.
She currently serves as President of the International Federation of Perioperative Nurses (IFPN) and has represented Türkiye in the European Operating Room Nurses Association (EORNA) since 2011. She is also a former President and founding member of the Turkish Surgical and Operating Room Nurses Association. An experienced postgraduate educator and researcher, she has supervised more than 40 completed Master’s and doctoral theses and has an extensive record of international and national publications, books, book chapters, and scientific presentations. Her professional work focuses on advancing perioperative nursing education, patient safety, evidence-based practice, innovation, and international collaboration.
