Elena J. Ladas, PhD, RD
Professor of Nutrition (in Pediatrics and in the Institute of Human Nutrition) at CUIMC & Sid & Helaine Lerner Professor for Global Integrative Medicine, Division of Hematology, Oncology & Stem Cell Transplant, Columbia University Irving Medical Center, New York.
She is Director of the International Initiative for Pediatrics and Nutrition and Co-Director of the Center for Comprehensive Wellness in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/Stem Cell Transplant at CUIMC, and Associate Research Director of the Department of Pediatrics Obesity Program. She previously directed the Integrative Therapies Program for Children with Cancer (2002–2012).
Since May 2023 she has been Visiting Professor at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She holds a PhD in Nutrition from Teachers College, Columbia University (2013; thesis on dietary intake in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia), an MS from the Institute of Human Nutrition at Columbia, and is a New York State licensed registered dietitian.
Her academic service includes membership in the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center Population Sciences Program, leadership of the CUIMC–University of Athens pediatrics MOU task force, and prior service on Institutional Review Board 5. Honors include NCI/NIH Merit Awards (PDQ Editorial Boards) and the Children’s Oncology Group Nursing Discipline Service Award.
