The nutritional interventions included dietary counseling, management of chemotherapy-related side-effects, weight management, initiation and administration of nasogastric feeds, and referral for total parenteral nutrition (TPN), when indicated. This innovative clinical model was later expanded to improve clinical care in low-and middle-income countries (LMIC) through the establishment of IIPAN in 2016. In this context, I advise pediatric cancer units on the establishment, development and expansion of clinical nutrition programs among children with cancer receiving treatment in an LMIC.
