Prof. Dr. Ricardo Ghelman (MD, PhD) is a pediatrician, pediatric oncologist, and Professor at the Department of Medicine and Primary Health Care at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro Medical School. Dr. Ghelman is the Founding Chair of the Brazilian Academic Consortium for Integrative Health (CABSIN) and a member of the World Health Organization (WHO) Expert Advisory Panel on Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (TCIM) and TCIM Americas Network/PAHO since 2019. He is also a member of the WHO Strategic Technical and Advisory Group on Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (WHO GTMC) and a member of the WHO AI Topic Group. He obtained a postdoctoral fellowship in Neurosciences at the Federal University of São Paulo, and is a member of the Research Council on Anthroposophic Medicine, Goetheanum, Switzerland. He serves as Co-Chair of the Global Committee of the Society of Integrative Oncology (SIO) and SIO Ambassador for Brazil, Member of the Executive Board of the European Society of Integrative Medicine (ESIM), Pioneer of Integrative Pediatrics in Brazil, and Vice-President of the Department of Integrative Pediatrics of the São Paulo Society of Pediatrics. He is Coordinator of Evidence Maps on Clinical Effectiveness of TCIM at CABSIN in partnership with BIREME/PAHO. He also serves as Advisory Council Member of the Integrative Health Global (IHG) Network at Columbia University, Member of the Coordinating Group of the International Network of Integrative Pediatrics (INIP), and Member of the Working Group on Children, Adolescence and Nature of the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics (SBP). Dr. Ghelman also serves as Lead of Cochrane Complementary Medicine Brazil, established at CABSIN.
