Prof. Dr. Elio G. Rossi
Born in Alessandria (Italy) in 1954, graduated cum laude at the University of Milan (Italy) in Medicine in 1979; specialized in Infectious Diseases in 1982. He worked as a hospital assistant at the Clinic of Infectious Diseases in Milan from 1981 to 1983.
Co-founder of Lycopodium group of Homeopathia Europea in 1979. Since 1991 Member of the Faculty of Homeopathy of London (MFHom) and FFHom (Hon) since 2018.
Listened as expert on AIDS and complementary therapy by the National Commission on AIDS of the Italian Ministry of Health (1995).
President of Scientific Board of 51st International Congress of Liga Medicorum Homeopathica Internationalis, Capri 2-6 October 1996.
Member of Non-conventional Medicine National Commission of Italian Ministry of Health 1996-2001 and of the CM Regional Commission of Tuscany since 1998.
Scientific director of the national journal Medicina Integrata since 1998, and author of the weekly rubric The Other Medicine on “R. Salute” supplement of the national newspaper Repubblica (2004 – 2014).
He was principal technical adviser to Hon. F. P. Lucchese, rapporteur of the proposed law for the regulation of non-conventional medicines and practices in Italy in the 14th Legislature.
Since 1998 Director of the Homeopathic Clinic, Regional Center of reference (2002), and Director of the Coordination center for CM of the Health Unit Tuscany North West (2017). Director of the clinic of CM in oncology of the Hospital of Lucca. Member of the board of the Tuscan Regional Center for Integrative Medicine (since 2019).
Since June 2023 he is Director of the Regional Center for Integrative Medicine of the Region of Tuscany.
Lecturer of Master courses on CM in oncology (Integrative oncology) at the University of Chieti (2019) and University “La Sapienza” Rome (2020-24).
He participated in the European Union Working Group 2 of COST Action E39 “Forest, Trees, and Human Health and Wellbeing” (2010).
Co-president of the 5th European Congress for Integrative Medicine (ECIM) 2012 in Firenze and Co-president of the 2nd World Congress of Integrative Medicine and Health 2023.
Advisor for CM projects in international cooperation programs of UNOPS (United Nations) since 1999 and consultant of ART/UNDP Geneve-Bruxelles.
Member of the Tuscany Region delegation of the Inter-regional “Complementary Medicine” Group of the National Health Commission-Italian State-Regions Conference (2007-2015).
Scientific responsible of the chapter CAM in cancer care of the European Partnership Action Against Cancer (2010-2014).
Since 2015 member of the Quality Assurance Scheme Development Group for Breast Cancer services managed by JRC (Ispra) and promoted by European Commission Breast Cancer Initiative, and participated in the preparation of the “Manual for the Breast Cancer Services” edited by the European Commission Initiative on Breast Cancer (2021).
Co-author of the book Complementary medicine for cancer patient. Firenze, 2015, and more recently co-author of the chapter La Scienza dei medicinali in diluizione: Omeopatia e Low Dose Medicine of the book “Principi di oncologia integrata” Tecniche Nuove Edizioni, Milano 2021, and co-author of the chapter Altri interventi – Terapie complementari, terapie corporee of the book Aspetti psicosociali in medicina palliativa. Finally he is co-author of the chapter of the article Tuscany Region. Multidisciplinary and integrative approach to cancer patients and diseases in the EUREGHA. Booklet “A showcase of best practices of EUREGHA’s members”.
Member of the Tuscan regional working group for the integration of CM into the Regional Oncology Network (2022).
Invited speakers at the 1st WHO Global Summit on Traditional Complementary Integrative Medicine – Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India, August 2023, and at the 2nd WHO Global Summit on Traditional Complementary Integrative Medicine, November 17-19, 2025, in New Delhi.
Currently Director of the Regional Centre for Integrated Medicine of the Region of Tuscany (CRMI) which includes 82 public complementary medicine clinics, 19 of these offer integrative oncology services. Author of numerous articles published in international peer reviewed journals and books on homeopathy and complementary and integrative medicine.
