Full professor at Ege University specializing in beekeeping, bee products and apitherapy. She is a Scientific Committee Member of the Apitherapy Section of Apimondia, Scientific Academia Board Member of the International Federation of Apitherapy (IFA), National Scientific Board Member of Türkiye Apitherapy Association (Bee Products Subgroup), and a member of the Turkish Ministry of Health GETAT Apitherapy Advisory Board. She also serves on COST beekeeping platforms and as a Türkiye representative on the ISO Committee for Bee Products Standardization.
With 35 years of experience she has produced over 430 scientific articles, book chapters, edited volumes, research projects and presentations. She published Bee Products and Health; Apitherapy (2015; first book on this topic in Türkiye) and Honey Bee and Beekeeping (2024). Awards include the Golden Bee Reward (2015) and the International Book Reward from IFA (2021). She mentors numerous master’s and doctoral students and teaches beekeeping courses nationally and internationally.
