Dr. Dilek TARHAN
Dilek TARHAN, MD, Sp.
Dr. Dilek Tarhan is a Medical Microbiology specialist. She graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1998 and completed her specialty training at Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital.
With over 15 years of experience in national health system governance, Dr. Tarhan has been instrumental in the design and implementation of the Turkish Healthcare Quality System and the Turkish Clinical Quality Program. She has played a key role in advancing accreditation frameworks and embedding patient and employee safety, as well as satisfaction, into healthcare delivery at a national scale.
Currently serving as the Head of the Department of Healthcare Quality, Accreditation and Employee Rights, she also acts as the Head of the Department of Traditional, Complementary and Functional Medicine Practices (as of March 2026).
Dr. Tarhan represents Türkiye in the OECD Health Care Quality and Outcomes (HCQO) Working Group and the WHO Patient Safety Country Representatives Group, contributing to international benchmarking and policy development in healthcare quality. Her work focuses on quality measurement, system performance, and sustainable improvement strategies in healthcare systems.
