Dr. Tamer Aboushanab Medical Doctor, TCIM researcher and expert – Egypt Dr. Tamer is a researcher, lecturer, and regulatory expert in the field of Traditional, Complementary, and Integrative Medicine (TCIM). He was a former researcher and trainer at the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) of the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, he served as a lecturer in the Complementary Medicine course at two universities in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, Dr. Tamer provided official training in Cupping Therapy courses, which were prerequisites for obtaining a license to practice in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. He also coordinated the development of regulatory guidelines and policies at NCCAM in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Tamer’s contributions to the development of a classification for cupping therapy types, equipment, and adverse events are noteworthy. He also introduced the health simulation method in cupping therapy training concepts. Dr. Tamer has authored over 40 publications in the field of TCIM, encompassing scientific papers, conference papers, book chapters, and books. Additionally, Dr. Tamer was a member of a team that contributed to the implementation of the complementary medicine course into the medical curriculum at Qatar University. He has actively participated in numerous international conferences, presenting his research and expertise. Additionally, he has served as an academic editor and peer reviewer for international TCIM journals.
