Selected Contributions to Publication Ethics and Research Integrity

• Led and collaborated on international meta-research examining transparency, open science practices,

publication ethics, and research integrity across TCIM journals and evidence ecosystems, including

studies on retractions, reporting quality, bibliometrics, and methodological rigour.

• Directed a major program of empirical research on artificial intelligence in TCIM and health research

publishing, including large-scale studies of attitudes toward AI chatbots in peer review, editorial

workflows, education, and the broader scientific process.

• Conducted extensive systematic, scoping, and bibliometric research characterizing TCIM evidence

production, including analyses of clinical practice guidelines, research trends, altmetrics, terminology,

and the structural evolution of TCIM scholarship across disciplines.

• Led and contributed to international studies on TCIM knowledge including investigations of clinician and

researcher perceptions across multiple specialties (e.g., oncology, psychiatry, pediatrics, cardiology,

surgery, and pain medicine), as well as work on digital health, misinformation, and consumer health

information quality in TCIM.

• Invited as an expert by the World Health Organization (WHO) to advise on the ethics of artificial

intelligence in traditional medicine and was subsequently invited to serve as a member of the WHO

Topic Group on Traditional Medicine under the Global Initiative on Artificial Intelligence for Health.
