Assoc. Prof. Deniz Güven, MD is a pediatrician and an academic member of the Traditional and Complementary Medicine Institute (TÜGET) at the Health Institutes of Türkiye (TÜSEB), where she serves on the Scientific Board for Education and International Collaboration Support and actively contributes to the coordination of educational and scientific programs in traditional and complementary medicine (TCM). She is also an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and a general pediatrics training faculty member at the University of Health Sciences, Ankara Etlik City Hospital, Türkiye.

Dr. Güven is a member of the European Society for Integrative Medicine (ESIM). She is also a member of the Turkish National Pediatric Society and the Adolescent Health Association.

She received her medical degree from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine (1997–2003) and completed her residency in pediatrics at Dr. Behçet Uz Children’s Hospital, İzmir (2003–2009) and is currently pursuing a PhD in Adolescent Health at Ankara University.

Dr. Güven has developed a multidisciplinary approach integrating pediatrics, public health, and evidence-based integrative medicine, with a particular focus on the integration of traditional and complementary medicine into pediatric practice. Her expertise includes phytotherapy, aromatherapy, and apitherapy, emphasizing their safe and evidence-based use in pediatric populations. She is actively involved in both clinical practice and academic research on TCM applications in pediatrics.

Her academic and clinical work encompasses a wide spectrum of pediatric and adolescent health. She has extensive experience in social pediatrics, including vaccination, pediatric nutrition, and breastfeeding and lactation counseling. Her work in adolescent health focuses on eating disorders, tobacco cessation, and tobacco control. She is also actively involved in the follow-up and management of children with war-related injuries and multiple trauma, reflecting her experience in complex and high-risk pediatric care. Dr. Güven holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Pediatric Nutrition from Boston University School of Medicine and is a certified breastfeeding and lactation counselor. She also holds certifications in Good Clinical Practice (GCP)and experimental animal research, supporting her involvement in clinical and translational research. as well as preventive health strategies.

She has authored 48 peer-reviewed scientific articles published in national and international indexed journals and 24 book chapters, and has contributed as an editor to publications focusing on traditional and complementary medicine and pediatrics. She has presented 20 oral presentations and 31 poster presentations at national and international scientific congresses. She has also served as an editor of academic books and serves as a reviewer editör for numerous national and international peer-reviewed journals, contributing to the scientific evaluation process and the advancement of evidence-based medicine.

She has received national scientific awards, including First Prize for Oral Presentation at the 16th National Congress of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition and Second Prize for Poster Presentation at the 59th Turkish National Pediatrics Congress.

She has served as a session chair at numerous national and international scientific congresses. She has also played an active role in the organization, moderation, and scientific coordination of traditional, complementary, and integrative medicine workshops, including:
